Back to Work!

Back to Work!

So I got a real job, its hard to say it any other way.  After devoting nothing but all my time to Simply Quimby for 9 years, I needed to get a normal job.  Like everyone everywhere, I just couldn't make the ends meet to sustain my family.  The county killed me with their permits/fees and took every dime I had saved and then some.  So I pounded the pavement to find something that would be flexible with my girls school schedules, and still allow me time to work on my business.

So I am now employed at Jack's in Cokato!! And let me tell you it is a great place to work.  The people are amazing and I can still do what I love around my schedule there.

It's not always easy to balance the things I need to get done along with the things I want to get done.  But as the weeks go by and I get into a routine it is getting better.  I am still trying to figure out when to pour, clean and fire ceramics.  But that is more a weather thing than a work thing.

I have set up an option on the website to schedule appointments to come and shop to make it easier for people to come when we aren't normally open.  Which honestly the only time we are open right now is Thursday nights for painting in the Coop and Saturdays to shop in the barn and paint in the Coop.  As the winter months get closer the coop will be closed and we won't be open in the barn.  Other than by appointment only and it is going to be cold.  No heat out there.

I am also still working on options for classes in the cold months.  Partnering with some other local businesses, looking at renting community spaces, and also coming to you with all the supplies you will need.  Plus I will be offering live classes via Zoom or live on Facebook.  This is all still a "work out the bugs" stage right now, but I will get there and will share it the minute I have it all figured out.

This is all pivot and adapt to life's changes.  I will get to where I need to be!
